Southwest Region Conference Welcomes New Executive Secretary

On July 11, 2021, the Southwest Region Conference Executive Committee voted Pastor Jason North as the Executive Secretary. Elder North succeeds Pastor Stephen Brooks who was elected to serve as Executive Secretary and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Director at the 31st Constituency Session of the Southwestern Union Conference. As the Executive Secretary, Elder North supervises conference administrative functions that have a direct impact on policy, record keeping and personnel. In addition, Elder North works with the President and Treasurer to operate and strategically plan for Southwest Region Conference.

Pastor North began his professional career as a K-12 physical education teacher at the Bermuda Institute in the Bermuda Conference.  He served the Michigan Conference as chaplain, bible instructor, and physical education teacher at Grand Rapids Adventist Academy in Grand Rapids, MI.  Elder North then joined the Lake Region Conference as a pastor in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana before serving as Youth Director.

Elder North most recently served as the Associate Pastor for Social Media, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries at the Oakwood University Church in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, Elder North authentically and creatively shared the gospel of Christ by empowering, equipping, and igniting young people to pursue their God-given passion.

Pastor Jason North is the son of Dr. James J. North Jr. and Audrey C. North.  He is married to the former Angie Coddington of Devonshire, Bermuda.  Together they have three children: Dijae, Jadae, and Jason Jr. Pastor North loves God, being with family and friends, theological discussions, and sports.
