Statement from the Regional Presidents Caucus on the Loss of Elder Maurice Valentine
The Regional Conference Presidents Council is shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Elder Maurice Valentine, Vice President, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.
Elder Valentine served as a member of the Regional Conference Presidents Council when he served as the President of the Central States Conference. He served with fidelity and integrity and remained committed to the mission of Regional Conferences even after his departure to serve other entities of our church.
He was a gifted and experienced administrator, who served our church as an administrator on every level: As a Conference departmental leader and President of the Central States Conference, as a Union Administrator in both the Mid-American Union and and the Lake Union, as the President of the Lake Union, as a Vice President of the North American Division and as a Vice President of the General Conference.
His loss is a tremendous loss to his family, to the Regional Conferences and to the world church. Our deep and most sincere condolences go out to his wife, Sharon, their three children and his extended family.
We look forward to the day when our friend and brother, Elder Valentine, is reunited with his wife, his extended family, and his church family.
