Oakwood University students touring the Office of Regional Conference Ministries

It was an amazing experience to have Mrs. Gloria Brooks and her 2024 Oakwood University students of the OU101 Orientation Class tour the Office of Regional Conference Ministries. At the beginning of the tour the students were asked what the building represented and initially not one student knew, but before they left the building they were fully informed about the structure of Regional Conferences and the Regional Conference Retirement Plan. As they sat around the conference table in the Boardroom it was suggested to them to consider working for the church one day, this sparked a lot of questions and curiosity.

The Cultural Center and Museum provided a wealth of history and information which they would later share in class as a part of their curriculum. This is the second year Oakwood University, and the Office of Regional Conference Ministry have joined together to “Strengthen the Ties That Bind Us Together”. The mission at hand is to continue educating the upcoming generations of their history and to lay a strong foundation for a better and brighter future.
