The Office for Regional Conference Ministries joins the South Central Conference and the broader church family in honoring the remarkable service of President Jones, who has officially announced his retirement effective December 2025.
President Jones has spent his entire 54-year ministry within the South Central Conference, beginning in the Dothan, Alabama district and faithfully serving across Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, and beyond. His leadership has left an indelible mark—not only administratively but through deeply personal connections with pastors, teachers, lay leaders, and the wider faith community.
In his heartfelt message, President Jones expressed gratitude for the journey, the friendships formed, and the support he has received. He emphasized that while his role as president will conclude, his commitment to the mission continues. He plans to serve as a deacon at First Church in Huntsville and remain actively engaged in ministry and mentorship.
We at the Office for Regional Conference Ministries extend our deepest appreciation to President Jones for a life dedicated to ministry, for the leadership he has exemplified, and for the spiritual legacy he leaves behind. His voice, faith, and vision have helped shape the future of our work.
As we approach to the end 2025, we will continue to support and pray with President Jones, the South Central Conference, and all those impacted by his extraordinary tenure.
